Miss My's Mother's Day Gift Ideas

I love my mom. My mom loves me. My mom also loves flowers. She often buys them for herself but every Mother's Day we treat her to a big and beautiful bouquet. I know how to make my mom happy but what if you would like to go that extra mile and really treat your mom or your mother-in-law. Gifts for mothers-in-law can be a bit tricky (the pressure!) but I have some Mother's Day gift ideas which I hope will help you choose a great gift for a great lady and which I some day hope to receive from my daughter.

Gift Idea 1

Mother's Day provides the perfect opportunity to treat your beloved mother. Why not treat her to a nice Saturday and/or Sunday brunch? Brunch is very trendy right now and I have had brunch at several places in Helsinki (read my Cafe Deli Maya brunch review here) and find it a great start of the weekend.

Gift Idea 2

Why not take your mom to a nice spa hotel and treat her to some spa treatments? And if you really want to treat her (and yourself) why not go to a spa hotel abroad? I love spa hotels and massages so I will let my daughter read this post as soon as she can read!

Gift Idea 3

Treat your mom to a girls' night out. Theater, casino, cinema, rock concert, etc. The options are limitless!

Gift Idea 4

If your mother likes a clean house but doesn't like to clean or is too busy to clean, treat her to a professional cleaner! You can hire a professional cleaner for a few hours or, if you feel really generous, once per week for a few weeks/months.

Mother's Day Cupcake and Cookie Decorating Ideas

Mother's Day is coming up in Holland and Finland and I thought I'd give you some Mother's Day Gift ideas although classics such as flowers and chocolate will never go out of date. However, if you are looking for something different then here is an idea.

How about giving your mom personalised cupcakes? You can buy a set of cupcakes from a bakery or bake them yourself. You can then decorate them with the letters of your mom's name. One cupcake per letter. If your mom's name is super long, then it might mean you will get to eat one too! If you are not creative you could ask the baker to write your mother's name on the cupcakes. Alternatively, you can use one of the below ideas for inspiration. I'm sure your mother, godmother, grandmother, friend or any special female in your life will love them.
